Approach

I studied photojournalism at Kent State University and spent years as a magazine photographer, with editorial work on the covers of Columbus Monthly, Columbus CEO and Columbus Weddings. That background taught me how to meet people of every kind, hear their story and help them get comfortable in front of a camera.

Once I began shooting weddings at the weekend and photographing friends and their growing families, I realised I was in love with love. My eye for the subtle-yet-memorable detail means you will not just see your story unfold in your photographs. You will feel it too. Joyful, authentic, timeless.

Starling Studio was named Best Columbus Wedding Photographer in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 by Columbus Weddings, and is a multi-year winner of The Knot Best of Weddings and the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Award. My work has appeared in Style Me Pretty, Martha Stewart Weddings, Ruffled, Black Bride and Equally Wed.

I celebrate all identities and love stories, and I stand for equality, inclusion and love of all kinds. When I am not photographing, I am at home with my husband Jeremy and our three daughters, most likely with a Jeni’s salted peanut butter in hand.
